Learn More About Flat, Low Profile Air Pallets with Rear Push Handle Controls
November 24, 2011Pneumatically powered (compressed air) , air pallets are generally a suitable choice for indoor areas like factories and warehouses. Working on a smooth, level, non-porous floor, they can take loads away from a loading dock to their intended destination in a short period of time. Air pallets could lift and move loads up to 4500kgs with very little human effort. For loads beyond 4500kgs, Rotair Systems offers custom-built air pallets to suit your requirements. Selections include the fitting of integral guide wheels to aid with steering, and drive wheels to check of propulsion. The same as their aluminium platform transporter counterparts, they’re also reasonably low profile and have a height of around 2 inches with deflated air bearings. Air pallets are offered with either A-type or B-type air bearings, based on the planned use, kind of floring surface, and type of load they will be transporting or moving. A-type air bearings are the conventional standard fit, and when they’re energised, they move the load away from the floor surface “just enough” to float the load which can then be moved off to its envisioned destination. This form of set up requires the load to be put upon the air pallet. When air pallets set up includes B-type air bearings, the attributes of air pallets slightly change. B-type air bearings have a lift height that makes them whisk a load or pallet away from its base before moving it laterally to its destination. This sort of lift is available for various circumstances when loads are not able to be put on the air pallet by other methods. In addition to the higher lift of the B-type air bearings, they also are a little more robust and can usually work on flooring surfaces that look rougher than the typical smooth concrete type of surface. But, they do use about the twice the amount of compressed air as the A-type air bearings do. However, in certain instances the B-type are truly required for the job and are well worth the additional compressed air that is consumed.
